Expanded Google Home Matter Device Sync in eWeLink V5.20

Table of Contents

Good news for smart home enthusiasts: eWeLink’s integration with Google Home just got even better. Starting with version 5.20, Android users can enjoy expanded support for syncing and controlling Matter-enabled devices from the Google Home ecosystem directly within the eWeLink app.

Back in V5.17, we leveraged Google Home APIs to sync devices already onboarded in the Google Home Matter fabric to eWeLink. Now with V5.20, that list of supported devices has grown—giving you more flexibility and a smoother experience.

If you’ve already set up lights in Google Home using Matter, you can now bring them into eWeLink effortlessly—no re-pairing, no double setup. Your existing devices, room names, and household structure sync over exactly as you’ve arranged them, so everything feels familiar the moment it appears in eWeLink.

What's New in V5.20

Previously, Matter lights with dimmable, cool-warm, and colorful capabilities could be synced. With the latest update, eWeLink now supports:

  • On/Off Lights
  • Dimmable Lights
  • Extended Color Lights

Whether it’s dimming the lights for movie night, setting a warm tone for dinner, or adding a splash of color to a party—you can now do it all from eWeLink, even if those lights were originally set up in Google Home.

Why This Matters

Smart homes often involve juggling between different apps, which can get frustrating. With this update, your Google Home lights can now be synced and controlled directly in eWeLink without having to re-add or reset them. This gives you:

  • One place for control – Whether you want to dim the lights for a movie or switch to warm tones for dinner, you can do it in eWeLink without switching apps.
  • Seamless syncing – Your existing household setup in Google Home, including rooms and device names, carries over to eWeLink as-is.
  • Easy expansion – Adding a new Matter-compatible light is straightforward. When you add it to a synced Google Home household in eWeLink using a QR code or pairing code, the device will automatically appear in both eWeLink and Google Home—no duplicate setup required.

Getting Started

  1. In eWeLink, go to Add Device > More Options > Link Google Home.
  2. Sign in with your Google account to sync your household.
  3. Once linked, you’ll see your Google Home structure—homes, rooms, and devices—inside eWeLink.
  4. Add new Matter-enabled lights to your synced household using a QR code or pairing code.

Everyday Benefits

  • Streamlined routines: Instead of asking Google to switch on a lamp and then opening eWeLink for plugs or switches, you can now handle everything from one app.
  • Effortless expansion: New Matter lights added in eWeLink appear instantly in both platforms, without extra setup.
