Staying comfortable at home shouldn’t mean constantly adjusting your thermostat. The Thermo Plugin, introduced in eWeLink App V5.18, takes the guesswork out of managing your home’s temperature. By combining temperature sensors with smart switches or thermostats, it helps you keep your space warm in winter, cool in summer, and energy-efficient all year round—automatically.

Getting Started with Thermo Plugin

Getting your smart climate system up and running is easy:

  1. Update your app to eWeLink V5.18 or above.
  2. Go to Profile > Pilot Features and enable the Thermo Plugin.
  3. In the Insight tab, pair a temperature sensor with a smart switch or thermostat.
  4. Name your setup, choose whether it’s for heating or cooling, and decide if you’d like it to appear on your Home page for quick access.

Once paired, your devices will respond to real-time temperature readings—automatically switching on when needed and off when your preferred temperature is reached.

1. Keep Function: Maintain the Perfect Temperature Effortlessly

Need a room to stay at a steady temperature for a specific time? The Keep function lets you hold a temperature for a set duration.
Example: Maintain 26°C in your baby’s room for nap time, or keep your study at 25°C during your two-hour evening work session — all without manual control.

2. Smart Schedules: Comfort That Prepares Ahead

With scheduling, your room will always be ready when you are.
Example: Warm up your bedroom to 24°C at 7:30 AM so it’s cozy when you wake up, or have the living room cool down to 25°C before you arrive home from work on a hot afternoon.

3. Insightful Graphs: Visualize Your Comfort

Stay informed with easy-to-read charts that show both your target and actual temperature readings.

  • Temperature Graphs: Record hourly temperature data throughout the day.
  • Actuator Runtime Graphs: Track how long your heating or cooling actuator has been active, displayed by week or month.
  • Free users can view the past 7 days, while members can view up to 30 days and download the charts for further insights.

4. Preference Modes for Every Lifestyle

Whether you’re relaxing, sleeping, or away from home, the Thermo Plugin adapts to your needs. Choose from five preset modes—Comfort, Eco, Sleep, Home, and Away—or set your own preferred temperature between -10°C and 60°C (14–140°F).

Example:

  • Set Comfort Mode to 24°C for family movie nights.
  • Switch to Eco Mode during work hours to reduce energy use.
  • Use Sleep Mode to maintain a cool and restful 26°C at night.

5. Stay Alert to Temperature Changes

The Temperature Deviation Alert helps you respond quickly when something feels off. You’ll receive a notification if your room’s temperature differs from the target by 3°C (37°F) or 5°C (41°F)—perfect for catching sudden changes and keeping your space comfortable.

6. Works Seamlessly with Your Smart Scenes

The Thermo Plugin can act as either a trigger or an action in your custom scenes, adding even more automation possibilities.

Example:

  • As an action: When your door sensor detects someone entering the room, automatically activate the Thermo Plugin to cool it to 26°C.
  • As a trigger: When cooling mode finishes, automatically turn off your fan and dehumidifier to save energy.

7. Share the Comfort with Family

Smart comfort is meant to be shared. The Thermo Plugin supports shared access, so your family or friends can also view and control the temperature.

Sharing Highlights

  • Free users can create up to 3 Thermo Plugins, advanced members can create up to 10, and prime members can create up to 15.
  • Shared users can adjust the target temperature, and depending on the owner’s membership tier, they may also access additional features such as Preference Modes or extended temperature history.
  • If a feature is restricted to the owner only, clear in-app prompts will appear—keeping the shared experience intuitive and hassle-free.
