V5.22 Raises the Limits: More Virtual Devices, More Thermostat Plugins, Easier Sharing
With the eWeLink app V5.22, Prime members get higher limits for virtual devices, thermostat plugins, and device sharing.
Smart homes are supposed to feel effortless. You set up scenes, build automations, and let everything run in the background—lights off when you leave, curtains closed at sunset, and plugs cut power at night.
But when something happens unexpectedly, there’s always one question that matters most:
“What triggered this?”
To make that answer instant and obvious, eWeLink has upgraded logs—so for supported devices, logs now show the exact scene name responsible for the action.
Before: Logs showed only “Manual Scene” or “Smart Scene,” so you knew how it happened—but not which scene caused it.
Now: For supported devices, including plugs, switches, lights, curtain motors, and temperature & humidity monitors, logs display the exact scene name behind each action, making verification and troubleshooting much easier.
Example: Manual Scene – Leave Home triggered.
You can view the improved logs here:
Device Settings → Logs
Open any supported device, enter its log page, and you’ll see more precise entries that include the scene name that triggered the action.
1) Quickly verify your routines worked as intended
Imagine you tap your “Good Night” scene and expect the home to settle down: lights off, plugs powered down, and curtains closed. With the upgraded logs, you can immediately confirm that “Good Night” ran and triggered the right actions—no uncertainty, no second-guessing.
2) Debug unexpected behavior in seconds
A light turns on in the middle of the day. A plug shuts off when it shouldn’t. Previously, you might only see “Smart Scene” and still not know which automation to adjust.
Now the log points directly to the culprit scene by name, so you can:
Less trial-and-error, more control.
3) Keep complex smart homes understandable
As your setup grows, it’s easy to forget which scenes control which devices. Scene-name logging keeps everything clear—because every action leaves a readable trail back to the automation that caused it.
With scene names now visible in logs, you can finally connect every device action to the automation behind it—instantly. Whether you’re double-checking your “Good Night” routine or tracking down an unexpected trigger, this update gives you clearer history, faster troubleshooting, and more confidence in how your smart home runs.
