eWeLink Works With Diverse Protocols

Table of Contents

Speaking of the Internet of Things, it is a grander worldwide web that works not just on computers, but also on anything that is able to connect and exchange data with other things. Communication protocols are the bridge that connects the things and enables interoperability.

To achieve the goal of working with everything, eWeLink ecosystem has supported an array of communication protocols including WiFi, Zigbee, GSM, and Bluetooth. Moreover, an upcoming new protocol, Matter, is also under development.

WiFi

The majority of eWeLink Support smart home devices are applying the WiFi protocol for cloud connectivity. WiFi devices empowered by eWeLink are easy to get up and running, and require no hub. All that is needed for connection is just a WiFi access point that has internet connection.

Zigbee

eWeLink Support Zigbee devices consume less energy and are compatible with many standard Zigbee hubs such as Samsung Zigbee Hub to leverage the features of preferred platforms. Users may also add eWeLink Support Zigbee devices to Home Assistant for local control and DIY flexibility.

GSM

For smart devices in outdoor scenarios out of the reach of WiFi signal, eWeLink Support ecosystem provisions GSM cellular modules.  eWeLink Support GSM devices are independent of router connection and are inherently immune to disconnection caused by power outages.

Bluetooth

Compared to WiFi working better for cloud connectivity, eWeLink Support Bluetooth devices focus on connection stability through line-of-sight local control. Unlike traditional Bluetooth devices limited by Bluetooth range, the eWeLink Remote series offers a better experience via app control and automation option via the smart scene feature.

Matter

As an authorized smart home solution provider by Google Assistant, eWeLink keeps innovating and backing up cutting-edge new technology. With Google’s plans to support Matter, eWeLink would play an important role in bringing to life Matter-supported devices to global consumers. Matter protocol is featured in simplified user experience, cross-ecosystem interoperability, and local connectivity.
